Tennis Tennis Tennis

Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do

Actually, I can’t stand this song but it’s playing on repeat in my head at the moment. Why? I finally found a tennis club! That’s enough to put a big (creepy?) smile on my face.

Tennis is like an addiction for me. I can go without it for a few weeks, but at some point I always start craving action, feeling restless and even dreaming about tennis. One day, I wake up and my first thought is “I wanna play tennis now“. I’ve gone through this process a few times, and of course the same thing happened again when I moved to Malta.

The solution on the horizon

After visiting a few clubs, I’ve now found my club of choice, Pembroke Rackets Tennis Club. It’s affordable (I wish I was this crazy about running, it’d be so much cheaper), quite close to my apartment and loads of buses go there. Perfect! There’s also an active tennis community with a Facebook group, so I’ve already found some potential partners, meaning I’ll most likely be able to play next week. For all those who know me, I’m grinning-like-a-maniac-and-feeling-like-jumping-around-happy. I’d actually jump if I wasn’t sitting down at the moment, which isn’t the normal reaction to joining a tennis club I think, but never mind.

Dreadful business

The only downside is that I’ll have blisters all over my hands after the first few times of playing, but there’s no tennis without blisters and I don’t care. Love hurts, they say 😉

Do you feel similar about tennis or other hobbies?

Let me know what you think!
